INSTANT POT SALMON

Yields: 2 cups, approximately 8 servings | Total cooking time: 25 minutes

Salmon and cod are fatty fish that contain an abundance of protein and brain-building omega-3 fatty acids, making them some of the healthiest foods you can offer your baby. White-fleshed fish like cod are also great sources of several B vitamins such as niacin, B6 and B12 which are essential for your child’s development.

Ingredients A

  • Two 6-8 ounces skinless fish fillets, fully deboned
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Non-stick cooking spray or cooking oil

Directions

Step 1: Find and extract all the bones in the fish before cooking. To do this, simply run your fingers lightly over both sides of the fillet and pull out any bones with tweezers. To be safe, do another check for bones after cooking and remove the remaining ones as well.

Step 2: Coat the walls of the multicooker with cooking spray or cooking oil then pour the water into the multicooker. Add the fish then lock the lid and set to cook on high pressure for 3 to 4 minutes depending on the thickness of the fillets. Once cooking is complete, press “Cancel” and carefully release the pressure from your multicooker.

Step 3: Remove the lid and allow the fish to cool slightly. You may opt to use an immersion blender to blend it into a baby puree or flake it with a fork if you wish to serve it as finger food.
